Birthday

 Loud claps symbolizing rhythmic beats
Drowning out the many hearts giving up secrets
Patch work the leaks
The moment you've been waiting for
A surprise
No bun, just meat

Singing "the song" is so cliche' but a must
What's a birthday that goes unnoticed, never mentioned
Don't  obliterate the cake
the  sapor, they're endless
Christmas time
The city
The reckless misuse of sugar
Age old techniques for  mixing  punch
The pity

Maybe something sweet like the nectar from honeysuckle
Perhaps vanilla to keep things simple
Devils Food Cake
The opposite of heaven sent
Chocolate with little flakes of freshness
The coolness of  peppermint

The gifts, the laughs, the hugs, the kiss
No rain, just sun on your day
The candles, your wish

The texture of the lips pressed to blow them out
A seed is  planted mentally
Thoughts ignited  before the discharge of air in the direction of heat
 Face expression that's meek
No mask, no filter, it's your day
I speak
Mimicking the sound of thunder
Loudly I repeat
Happy Birthday Happy Birthday Happy Birthday
